My daughters should not have a truck grabbed out of their hands by an adult and handed to a male cousin because, “This is a boy toy anyway.”
My son shouldn’t be ridiculed because his favorite color is pink.

This one in particular made me smile. Growing up, I had just as many Hot Wheels, Nerf guns, and fire trucks as Barbies, and my mom would always patiently correct the McDonald’s drive-thru workers every time they asked if she wanted my Happy Meal with “a girl toy or a boy toy.”
Dad used to get annoyed with her for it, but I’m glad she did things like that. I don’t think I’d be the same person I am now if she hadn’t worked so hard to make sure I grew up without the bizarre notions some people seem to have about perfectly normal objects being gender-specific.
(Also, that kid’s shirt has a TARDIS on it and that is goddamn precious. Gold star, good parenting.)
